I hate to do this, but I need to sell my flat black Setzer Hotrod Gretsch in order to make another guitar purchase more feasible. I just don't use this guy that much any more. But I did play it on the album version of "Surfin with Von Franco!"
The guitar was previously owned by Buddy Dughi of the Hot Rod Trio, it has an incredibly fast neck and the pickups are built for loud rock n' roll. Think 'Ignition'-era Brian Setzer. This is not a jazz guitar. Great for psycobilly, rock n roll, punk rock, or neo-rockabilly. It has been stripped down of badging and pick guard and is in really good condition
There's a light scuff below the right f-hole and some belt scratches on the back. Some small chipping on the off white pinstriping, but it's not very bad for a played guitar, built in 2004.
These are the scratches on the back.
The single-cutaway bound hollow body has an arched top, 1959-style trestle bracing and f-holes; the two-piece maple neck has a bound ebony fingerboard with Neo Classic™ thumbnail inlays. Other features include dual TV Jones®-designed Hot Rod Filter'Tron™ pickups, three-position pickup switch, single master volume control, Sperzel® locking tuners, pinned Adjusto-Matic™ bridge and Bigsby® B6C vibrato tailpiece.
Case and some screw on dice knobs are included.
They don't make this model any more and it's a really great playing guitar. I'm asking $1850 for it. Don't hesitate with any questions. info@thehulagirlsmusic.com
